Sneak Peek at Pride and Prejudice: The Comic!

It's so...generic. Wow. I actually can't tell the difference between the sisters - they quite literally all have the same damn face. (Even Mary, who has gone from being the least attractive sister to arguably the prettiest.)

Ugh, I just went back to look at who illustrated it and I was surprised to see that it wasn't Greg Land. Though I suppose tracing isn't what you'd call a style.

I hate, hate, hate that the only way to tell the difference between them is by their hair. Which, apart from Kitty, is roughly the same colour anyway.

On one level it's just the average, painfully boring adaptation of yet another classic novel into comic form (I mean, there's nothing remotely new about any of it, there's no translation, just a lot of static panels). And on another level, well, pornface. If anyone wants Jane Austen porn, they can read Pride and Promiscuity (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pride-Promiscuity-Lost-Scenes-Austen/dp/1439140502/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237372401&sr=1-4), which is a hundred times funnier.

*smirk* My friend happens to a be a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice. On one of her birthdays, Pride and Promiscuity had just recently been released, so I got it for her as a gag gift.

=D She was horrified.

Heh. My cousin wanted it for her birthday and what with one thing and another (I was bored) I read it first. I think that may have been the first orgy fic I ever read, and for Mansfield Park, too. I loved the fake scholarship, as well. (And some of those reviewers on Amazon don't seem to get the joke. "How dare they pretend Jane Austen wrote this filth!")
